Salt Lake based life sciences and AI pioneer is looking for a passionate Information Security Architect or Lead Security Engineer to lead and evaluate the enterprise security stack and guide the organization through successful design, implementation and deployment of best in class security technology.  The ideal candidate will leverage broad technical knowledge of enterprise security technologies and extensive technical deployment experience.

Our ideal candidate will have a proven track record of serving as an Information Security Architect or Lead Security Engineer, working in conjunction with both technical and business-oriented teams to provide secure environments and highlighting security awareness throughout the organization.  The right person will have both strategic design and direct hands-on expertise in the following areas of information security:

  • Evaluate endpoint security strategy and architecture. Provide improvements as required and collaborate with other security engineering team members on seamless security architecture
  • Develop requirements for security technologies and evaluate providers
  • Design and deploy cloud security strategy with a Google Cloud and AWS focus
  • Emphasis in software security architecture
  • Evaluate secure messaging technologies and develop requirements to meet organization needs
  • Evaluate mobile device technologies and develop requirements to meet organization needs
  • Evaluate security monitoring technologies and develop requirements to meet organization needs
  • Collaborate with team members, researchers and the executive team to determine the best possible security solutions
  • Drive acquisition and implementation of technology improvements
  • Develop the supporting processes to ensure effectiveness of our overall security strategy
  • Develop, maintain and report on metrics of successful implementation
  • Tune implementation over time to obtain maximum effectiveness
  • Participate in the review and analysis of internal projects and external requirements that may have an impact on security
  • Build system baselines to be adhered to for all future build outs
  • Be aware of the IT security requirements for the business and implement measures to satisfy those requirements in the most efficient manner

In addition to a solid track record of information security expertise, the right candidate will have several, but may not have all, of the following skill and attributes:

  • Demonstrated experience in information security roles with an architecture and engineering emphasis
  • Experience designing, managing and implementing security technologies
  • Industry certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CEH, PMP, GCIH, GSEC would be awesome, but not necessary
  • Solid experience in several of the following:
    • IT security industry trends and direction
    • SIEM
    • Vulnerability Management
    • Penetration Testing
    • Google Cloud and AWS security tools
    • Emerging technologies
    • IT standards, procedures, policy
    • Information security leadership, architecture and engineering
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting & interpersonal skills
  • Experience with ethical hacking practices and defense tactics with the ability to apply adversarial tools safely without disrupting existing workflows
  • The ability to present to and connect with diverse audiences to create a security-focused mindset and turn all employees into security advocates
  • A comfort with software engineering activities, such as Linux command-line usage, SQL scripting, and version control. Bonus for Docker, Kubernetes, and distributed systems
  • Extensive knowledge of Firewalls, Networking, Wireless, Active Directory, LDAP, DNS, DHCP Server & Desktop OS to include (Windows & Linux & MacOS)
  • A working understanding of Windows and Mac security weaknesses and how to properly avoid them
  • Experience working with both cloud and on-premises infrastructure
  • A passionate for continuing education with a desire to learn about new and existing vulnerabilities as they may impact the organization
  • The ability to share your technical knowledge across multiple teams, increasing their productivity and effectiveness by sharing your deep knowledge and experience

The Lead Information Security Architect will be located in the Salt Lake City headquarters where he or she can best influence enterprise technical strategy.
