CISCO Voice Engineer - Contract

Our client is one of the largest, global manufacturing and distribution organizations in the West and we are searching for a talented Cisco Voice Engineer to lead voice systems analysis, design, development, implementation, integration, testing, and ongoing modifications and support of complex hardware and software systems, including network, VoIP, and server systems at several global locations. This is a senior level role with the ability to influence IT and business direction as well as mentor junior staff globally. You will have the opportunity to influence our technology landscape through collaboration with other engineers, product owners, architects, managers and the executive team. Our ideal candidate will be a technical leader with expertise in Cisco Voice a passion for applying technology to solve business challenges.

In addition to a solid track record of advanced Cisco Voice Engineer, the right candidate will have several, but may not have all, of the following skills experience and attributes:

  • Utilizes best practices systems analysis techniques to design, develop, create, and modify VoIP applications, and network resources
  • Consults with users and other associates to determine and document business requirements and functional specification
  • Designs system workflows and architecture to ensure scalability and performance
  • Administrates and makes recommendations for Cisco networking/ VoIP hardware and software
  • Implements new technologies as appropriate – informing management of the new features and providing training to end users and colleagues
  • Creates documentation for applicable tasks
  • Monitors voice systems and network activity and makes tuning adjustments based on results and analysis
  • Installs network and VoIP application updates, including analyzing, scheduling, installing, and testing
  • Troubleshoots network and VoIP failures
  • Writes and maintains scripts in both UCCE and UCCX environments
  • Follows PCI compliance best practices
  • Works with mobile providers to optimize cost savings and end user functionality
  • Coordinates efforts, recommends solutions, and supports VoIP applications globally

Minimum Qualifications

  • Around 5 years of network, and/or voice management
  • Basic knowledge of Cisco UCCE, PCCE and UCCX applications, including design, implementation, maintenance, and scripting
  • Experience with Cisco CVP application support
  • Have or be actively working towards a Cisco CCNP-Voice certification
  • Familiarity with H.323, SIP, and/or MGCP protocols
  • Knowledge of Unity voicemail
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Detailed work and organizational skills
  • Ability to analyze problems and create solutions
  • Must work independently and professionally
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work under stress and work overtime as needed
  • Aptitude to perform the essential duties and responsibilities with efficiency and accuracy
