Our team is seeking a Wireless Hardware Engineer. Our ideal candidate will posses knowledge in the following:

  • Designs and develops analog and digital circuits in mixed signal for wireless communication system.
  • Performs analog and mixed-signal circuit analysis, simulation, testing and characterization.
  • Converts existing Xilinx Zynq wireless reference hardware platform design to meet various future form-factor devices including hand-held, base station and fixed position mounted devices.
  • Designs discrete power management and audio circuitry.
  • Performs thermal and environmental analysis including EMI test to meet design specifications, functionality requirements and power consumption targets.
  • PCB layout, prototyping, board bring-up, validation and optimization support in collaboration with operations team.
  • Develops and documents hardware-level requirements, specifications and validation test plans to meet product requirements.
  • Conducts and supports root cause analysis, risk analysis, and implements corrective actions.
  • Takes leadership in driving hardware development from concept to production and in collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Work on lab bring up and silicon validation
  • Defined, selected, and created documentation and specifications for production tests.
  • Works with software, FPGA, RF and mechanical team members for aligning areas of product development.
  • Analog and mixed-signal circuit analysis, simulation, testing and characterization is a plus.
  • Designed power subsystem, control surfaces. Tested thermal, environment, EMI (electromagnetic interference).
  • Participation in hardware and hardware related cross-functional design reviews.
  • Ownership in hardware issues and change requests tracking and resolution.
  • Ownership in planning and coordinating hardware builds as well as maintaining engineering documentations and design releases.
  • Design and development of engineering boards and production test boards.
  • Manufacturing bring-up and support in collaboration with operations team.
  • Support for products in production by conducting root cause analysis, risk analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Implements FPGAs, programmed VHDL to scan & update controls, communicate with peripheral IC's.
  • Implements the OrCAD, Allegro and CIS/CIP internal PCB design methodology.
  • Worked as member of a cross-functional meeting, aligning areas of product development.
  • Utilized designer software, developing electrical schematics and mechanical constraints, preparing PCBs for manufacturing.

 

  • Associate Degree, or two-year technical school, or equivalent military experience, plus five or more years related hardware engineering experience or junior technician with relevant internship experience and seven years relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Solid understanding of analog and mixed-signal circuit analysis, simulation, testing and characterization.Experience with PCB layout, prototyping, board bring-up, validation and optimization support in collaboration with operations team.
  • Experienced with thermal and environmental analysis including EMI test to meet design specifications, functionality requirements and power consumption targets.
  • Strong background in PCB layout, prototyping, board bring-up, validation and optimization support in collaboration with operations team.
  • Experience in implementing FPGAs, programmed VHDL to scan & update controls, communicate with peripheral IC's.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Special Requirements and/or Training:  

  • US Citizenship Required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance (DOD equivalent).
